Production Process
Stage 1: Layout & Diagram

This process will get the exact diagram of the model. We use a 3 view diagram of the model that is checked for accuracy and then sketched out by the draftsman. The draftsman enlarges the diagram to the exact scale the customer wants. The draftsman then gives this precise diagram to the Carving Department.
Stage 2: Carving Department

In this department the carver first looks carefully at the enlarged diagram and then uses the diagram to cut the solid mahogany wood in the correct length. He then carefully hand carves the mahogany into the shape of the desired model. After carving is complete the model is inspected by the Quality Control Department to make sure that it is correct.
Stage 3: Putty Department

In this department we cover the solid mahogany wooden model in 14 coats of putty. After the last coat of putty we do a final cover spray and then the model is transferred to the Drying Department for three days.
Stage 4: Artist Department

In this department the artists hand paint the model and hand paint the letters, numbers, and logos. The Quality Control Department checks the model for detailing and accuracy.
Stage 5: Detailing Department

In this department we check to make sure that the Artist Department completed everything to the customers specification. The Detailing Department will then put on all required and necessary details, for example, lights, antennas, bombs, missiles, etc. At this stage we also make sure that the stand is correct for each model. The Quality Control Department checks the model and the last coat of paint is painted onto the model.
Stage 6: Drying Department

After the last coat of paint is painted onto the model, the model is sent to the Drying Department for three to four days. The model is placed in direct sunlight to bring out the brilliance of paint we use. We have found through testing that our models have a greater luster when they sit in direct sunlight rather than in a drying room. After the model is fully dried it is inspected one last time by the Quality Control Department to ensure the model is exactly what the customer ordered.
Stage 7: Packing Department

In this department the models are carefully packed in Styrofoam layers and securely packaged so there is no damage to the model during shipping. Since all of our models are completely made by hand, the production process from your order to delivery can take from 30 to 90 days.
