Model Description

This handcrafted RMS Titanic 1/350 scale model is painstakingly built by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail. The RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Titanic, an Olympic class passenger liner, was a British luxury passenger liner that sank on April 15, 1912, en route to New York from Southampton, England, on its maiden voyage. The largest and most luxurious ship afloat, it had a double-bottomed hull divided into 16 watertight compartments. The Titanic struck an iceberg on the night of April 14, at 11:40 PM. The Titanic sank, with great loss of life, at 2:20 AM, on April 15, 1912. The United States Senate investigation reported that 1,517 people perished in the accident. The disaster ranks as one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters in history, and is by far the best known. It carried some of the richest, most powerful industrialists, multi-millionaire entrepreneurs of her day.

This model is personally signed by the youngest of the Titanic survivors, Millvina Dean. Dean was also the last living of all of the survivors, she passed away on May 31, 2009. Dean was only nine weeks old when aboard the Titanic, she would survive on Lifeboat 10 along with her mother and brother. All three surviving members of the Dean family went on to live long and healthy lives; Dean's mother passed away at age 96, her brother passed at age 80, and Millvina passed away at the age of 97. Certificate of Authenticity included.

The model also comes with a piece of coal recovered by the RMS Titanic during the 1994 Titanic Research and Recovery Expedition. This is the only item from the actual Titanic wreckage that can be sold to the general public.

This model comes with everything you see here: handcrafted model, signature plate (signed by survivor Millvina Dean), piece of recovered coal and ship case. Our wooden RMS Titanic model is an exact replica of the original, handcrafted with vigilance by master craftsmen. After it is sanded and puttied, skilled artists paint on the intricate details. Clear lacquer provides the finishing touch and long-lasting protection. Each ship model comes on a a display base with brass pedestals and a brass name plate.
